The Embassy of Canada to China hosted a reception in Beijing in honour of Canada's national day on June 26, 2025. Nearly 500 representatives from government, diplomatic missions, the business community, cultural organizations and media gathered to celebrate Canada's 158th birthday.
自 1867 年 7 月 1 日建国以来，加拿大国庆日是庆祝加拿大辽阔土地上的双语文化、多元文化并致力于与原住民和解的重要场合。今年，正如加拿大国歌中所唱的那样，加拿大人团结一致，展现出“真正的北方，强大而自由” 的精神。
Since the founding of Canada on July 1, 1867, Canada Day is an important opportunity to celebrate Canada from Coast to Coast - a country that is proudly bilingual, multicultural, and committed to Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples. This Canada Day, it's undeniable that Canadians are standing up for the True North Strong and Free.
加拿大驻华大使梅倩琳出席了国庆日招待会。梅倩琳大使回顾了加中两国关系在过去一年的发展，展望了未来的合作机会。大使在致辞中表示，“尽管现阶段世界面临着诸多挑战与不确定性，但挑战与机遇并存。加拿大作为一个自豪强大的主权国家，已经准备好抓住这一机会。”
Canada's Ambassador to China, Jennifer May, reflected on Canada-China relations over the past year and looked ahead to future opportunities for engagement, saying, “While there is no denying that we are living in a moment marked by serious global challenges and uncertainty, there is also great opportunity – and Canada is well positioned to seize this as a proud, strong, and sovereign nation.”
加拿大国庆日招待会以“穿越加拿大”为主题，通过一系列精心设计的文化环节，让在场嘉宾们感受加拿大的全境魅力，体会加拿大雄心壮志、不断创新的精神。国庆招待会的摄影作品展记录了加拿大各地壮丽的自然风光，“枫味加肴区”呈现了加拿大各地的特色美食，如东部魁北克地区的经典奶酪肉汁薯条、西海岸的三文鱼饼、北方洋流的北极贝等。其他精彩纷呈的活动包括尚道尔小灯塔合唱团和 DJ Nola 的表演，打卡与加拿大联系的互动地图等。本次招待会也受到充满活力与韧性的加拿大在华企业的大力支持。
The reception, held under the theme "Canada from Coast to Coast" showcased Canada's bold, ambitious, and innovative nature, profiling a photo display of Canada's stunning landscapes and culinary classics and innovations like poutine from the East, salmon fish cakes from the West, and even arctic surf clam poke from the North! The music and cultural elements rounded out the rest of the program, with performances by the Little Lighthouse Children's Choir and DJ Nola, and an interactive map inviting guests to share their connections with Canada. The event was made possible by generous support from the energetic and resilient Canadian business community here in China.
